I have a funny story about Mallory. Yesterday her friend Jared come over to watch the football game with us. He is a Big, Friendly, Giant- kind of a boy. He is 6 ft. 4 inches and a big, nice, loveable guy. He was very positive and happy, and sat down and talked easily with Mike and I. He even hugged me good bye. We were all sitting down when he was leaving and he walked over and shook Mike's hand and then came over and said, "I wanna give you a hug," and I was still sitting when he did. It was completely sweet but a little awkward, and then I was stammering, and saying goodbye, and thanking him for hugging me. It was funny because I wasn't expecting it and it surprised me. Even Mallory was laughing about it later when we were talking about what a nice guy he is.
Then Mallory tells me you gotta hear the story about how we met. She said it was really funny, and it really, really was. Jared has been to our house before, and we have heard about him, but this is the first time I heard about how they met. This is how Mallory met The Big, Friendly Giant.
It was her freshman year and they had a class together. On the very first day of her freshman year Mallory was walking to her seat when this big, giant boy, sticks his foot out, and trips her. She crashed to her knees and went all the way down. She said she could not believe it and was horrified, and yelled out so loud to this boy, "I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!"
Then they both burst out laughing, and the giant boy apologized over and over for knocking her over, and told her over and over he didn't think she was going to fall, and that he didn't mean to make her fall down.
That was the beginning of their beautiful friendship and they have been great pals ever since. And I could not stop laughing when she told me their story.

I am still laughing thinking of this story. Isn't that so awful?
I would have been so furious!
I can't wait for him to come over again so I can ask him about it, and see the two of them remember this story and laugh at it together.
Soooooooo Funnnnnnyyyyyy!
That is adorable! It sounds like a very romantic start to a friendship! LOL ;) Next time he is there you will have to snap a picture of them together. I wonder if my Ryder will be like that. For his age, he is the biggest gentle giant I know!
